Dana Brown's visually stunning surf documentary looking at the spirit of surfing.
Surfing Phuket
An overnighter in Phuket gave us the chance to sample some of Phuket’s beach and reef breaks. Forecast 4-6ft windswell @ 7 sec. It seems when the wind starts to blow hard and the swell picks up, Phuket’s many bays and coves offer plenty of shelter and handle the conditions surprisingly well. Stormy onshore waves greeted us at Surin beach.
We also surfed four of the five K’s, Kamala, Kalim, Kata, and Kata Noi. The beach breaks were fun but Kalim was holding up better.
The local Thai surfers were very friendly and welcoming in and out of the water.
Bombora
As small as it gets, hoping to get some more shots of this spot on a bigger swell later on in the season. Huge thank you to Craig from Amara Watersports for sacrificing board and blood for this shot.
Pakarang Point
Hot and windy. Big thanks to Leah for being game enough to trek, wade and swim all the way out there in the midday heat with the camera.
Surfing Cape Pakarang
Swell arrived Sunday morning smaller than forecast, still plenty of fun small waves on the cape. Good to see some of the Bangkok crew and Craig from Amara Watersports having a great time out there. Big thanks to Mr Ric from Khuk Khak Design for swimming all the way out there with his camera.
Saturday Morning
So shallow the wave pulls you backwards as it sucks off the reef, worth a few scratches and scrapes though.
